Voice message from Carmen. We should do a podcast about the sixth sense – intuition!

The Sixth Sense

The term sixth sense typically refers to a perceptual ability beyond the five traditional senses (sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell). It suggests an extra-sensory perception (ESP), such as the ability to sense danger, read thoughts, or foresee future events without using the known senses.

People might say someone has a sixth sense if they seem to “just know” something without being told—like sensing that someone is upset, or feeling that something bad is going to happen.

Do you believe that some people possess a sixth sense? It’s often claimed that mothers have a sense sixth as regards their children’s feelings or wellbeing.

Discussion
Can animals have a sixth sense? Why might they sense danger before humans do?
It’s often said that women are more intuitive than men. Do you agree?
How much of the full capacity of the human brain has actually been harnessed?

…and now it’s your turn to practise your English. Do you think the sixth sense exists? Do you have any examples or any anecdotes to tell us?
