Hi Craig! I am Karla from Costa Rica… I just wanted to thank you for this excellent tool that allows me to practice and improve my english… I am going to start a new job having interaction with people from different countries in Europe, so I was concerned about the accents and slangs words… As any language I think it is about learning through daily interaction right? Any advice? Thanks again! 🙂
Hi Karla,
Thanks for your comments. The best way to improve accents, slang words etc is to listen to as much natural English as possible. Not listenings from classroom coursebooks, but real people talking and having conversations. YouTube is good for this, and TV series, interviews, podcasts etc. Try to speak to as many native speakers as possible. I think Costa Rica has many tourists visiting the country, so you’re lucky!
Good luck with your new job! Let us know if we can help with anything, or answer a question for you in a future podcast.
Hi craig, I am Bernardo from Spain too. Firstly I would like to thank you for your great podcast!
I specially apreciate you interviews. I feel happy listening how english people really enjoy our country. I live in the North of Spain, in Asturias where the whether is seemed to the english weather, here it is very changeble all the year. Frecuently I listen your audios while I am relaxing in my tanning bed…I really miss the beutiful sun of the South!
My best wishies for all the team La Mansión del Inglés
Thank you Bernardo. We’re pleased you enjoy the podcast. We hope to be doing more interviews after the summer. Keep listening and working on that tan 🙂
Hi, Craig, I´m Vanessa from Spain too, and I´d like to say that this podcast is fantastic. Above all, one person can listen other people talking with a natural way, not like robots as we used to listen in all of our classes. While I was listening the podcast, I was writing the main ideas and points of views from Sheila and Pete. I think it´s a good idea in order to practice the “Listenings” of the Cambridge exams.
Congratulations for it and thank you so much! 🙂
Thank you for your feedback Vanessa. Let us know if there’s anything you would like us to talk about in a future podcast.
Hi Craig,
First of all I would like to apologize for leaving a comment after nearly four
years. However, in my humble opinion, this podcast was one of the
climaxes and it encouraged me to drop a few lines.
I’m fond of listening to Mansion Interviews podcast format, because your
guests talk very naturally. Particularly, Sheila does have a charming British
accent.
Kind regards,
Alex
Thank you, Alex. I really enjoy doing interviews and I have plans to do more. Sadly, time is a problem because I have to plan the interview, do the research and arrange the conversation with the guests. Nevertheless, I hope to get back to doing more soon. Thanks for listening, and for your kind words.
