Correction! Feedback from Ana on episode 298 about Mexico – Desperados is a French beer, not Mexican. Desperados is a tequila-flavoured pale lager beer with 5.9% alcohol by volume originally created and produced by the French brewing company Fischer Brewery, now produced by Heineken.

Hi Reza and Craig:
As you have said in this podcast there are at least two songs where the third person of present simple is used in the wrong way, I send you the lyrics of ” Captain Sunshine” by Neil Diamond.
He uses “Do” instead of “Does” and “Make” instead of “Makes”.
I think they do that because of the rhyme, don’t they?

Captain Sunshine, make me drink wine,
Make me feel fine when I’m feelin’ wrongly down.
He don’t take much, he don’t make much,
But ah, to be such a man as he,
And walk so pure between the earth and the sea.
Captain Sunshine, he do me fine,
Make the words rhyme when he knows the tune is sad.
He don’t take much, he don’t make much,
But ah, to be such a man as he,
And walk so pure between the earth and the sea.
He don’t take much, he don’t make much,
But ah, to be such a man as he,
And walk so pure between the earth and the sea.

  2. Alejandra says:

    Hi, Reza & Craig!
I’M Alejandra from Argentina, leaving since 2000 in Miami, I just found your podcast online.
I’m trying to improve my formal writing notes and respond to emails but still, struggle with my etiquette or formal writing. Overall in my descriptions in my notes about situations.

For example: my colleague will write:” Enclosed please find the attachment”
And I would write: “Here is my attacment” which is undertanble but is not quite the level.
Moreover how to understand this email that it was sent to me from a company:” Notice of transmitted ( compani name) electronic payment(s).
what that means? that they are in their own processes or that they process the payment and sent it to me via electronically?
Thank you in advance, I’m awaitng for your respose.

    1. Craig says:

Thanks for your message, Alejandra. We’ll answer your questions in a future episode.
