I can’t stand it / I can’t bear it = I hate it – I can’t stand people who…..I can’t bear….
You can’t get it out of your mind = You can’t stop thinking about it (That really scary film she saw really affected her. She can’t get it out of her mind)
I can’t hear myself think = I can’t concentrate
You can’t beat it = There’s nothing better (You can’t beat a nice cup of tea to refresh you!)
I can’t get my head around it = I can’t understand it
You can’t win! = life is difficult
You can’t ask better than that = You should be content with the situation/offer
I can’t believe it = I’m incredibly surprised (She can’t believe it – she’s won the lottery!)
I can’t be bothered (can’t be arsed) = I have no interest, I don’t feel like doing it.
I can’t afford it = I don’t have enough money for it
I can’t take it (anymore) = It’s too much for me
Beggars can’t be choosers = If you need something, accept it! (En tiempos de guerra todo agujero hace trinchera / Cuando hay hambre no hay pan duro)
(You) can’t live with them, can’t live without them! Women! Can’t live with them, can’t live without them!
I can’t help it = I have no control over it. I can’t help + verb+ing: ‘I can’t help eating chocolate.’
I can’t take my eyes off her/him = I’m really attracted to him/her
