1.Don’t hold your breath. / I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you. (Don’t expect it to happen for a very long time)
2. Take it from me. / Take my word for it. (believe me because I know what I’m talking about)
3. What’s the damage? (How much is it?)
4. It’s on me. / This one’s on me! (I’ll pay, I’ll get the bill, it’s my treat)
5. I’m off. / Scotland, Northern England, Northern Ireland – I’m offsky/offski. (I’m leaving)
6. Dig in! /Get stuck in! / Tuck in! (start eating, help yourself)
7. Be that as it may (Although that may be true)
